On Your Way To Healthy Weight Loss

Most diets claim to help you lose weight but in reality are too hard to follow and too strict! Well – here are a few easy dieting tips to help you loose weight and reach your goal without asking you to starve yourself or completely change your lifestyle. Remember, easy diets mean easy weight loss!

Firstly, forget those low carb diets. Dietitians agree that carbohydrates should make up about 60% of a healthy diet. Carbohydrates are your body’s primary source for energy. Limiting your carbohydrate consumption means limiting your energy supply, and this can actually have a negative effect in terms of weight loss. You see, the process of digestion actually requires a great deal of energy (it’s true, eating actually burns calories!). And if your body is lacking carbohydrates, it lacks the required energy for proper digestion (which is essential for weight loss).

This is the same reason “starving yourself” doesn’t work either. When you starve yourself, you are simply depriving your body of energy. When you do eventually eat something, your body has no energy to digest that food, and it simply gets stored.

Many people trying to lose weight think that food is the enemy. On the contrary, food can be more powerful than any weight loss pill, given you know the right types of foods to eat and the right times to eat particular foods. For example, keeping in mind that energy is required to digest food, consider a stick of celery. Did you know that it actually takes more energy to digest that stick of celery than the amount of energy you gain from eating it. Consequently, eating a stick of celery leaves you with a negative net calorie intake, and this is how eating the right types of foods can actually help you lose weight.

As with any proper weight loss plan however, eating the right types of foods is only part of the game plan. You have to know the right types of foods to eat as well as proper eating patterns to help boost your metabolism. Eating patterns are extremely important for weight loss. Don’t skip meals, as skipping a meal will reduce your calorie intake for the time being but will leave you hungrier later on. Irregular eating habits disrupt your body’s metabolism which makes it harder to lose weight.

The hardest part of dieting usually involves not being able to eat when you want and not being able to what you want. But a diet doesn’t have to be hard. You don’t have to stop eating all your favourite foods in order to lose weight. Simply eat more of the right types of foods, and most importantly, follow optimal eating patterns for weight loss.
